Warranty

All petrol engines and used petrol engines are covered by a 3 month or 5000km warranty which ever comes first however this will exclude the bolt on components such as the starters, alternators, carburettors and distributors.

All diesel engines and used diesel engines are sold with a start up guarantee only as we run these units in our facility prior to the sale of the unit. Turbo charged and performance engine however do not carry a warranty. Once the engine has been installed the vehicle will need to be brought back to us so that we can verify that new filters, belts and service components have been replaced and fitted after which the warranty will commence.

Engines and More - Used Engines and Gearbox Policies

The following must apply on all Engines and Gearbox Sales:

1. Used Petrol Engines have a 3 (three) month or 5 000km (five thousand) guarantee. This means that the guarantee will either be 3 (three) months or 5 000km (five thousand) from date of inspection depending on whichever occurs first, prior to inspection of vehicle.

2. The guarantee will only apply to the Cylinder Head and Block. The guarantee will not apply to the following accessories on the engine i.e. Carburetor, Starter, Cam belt, Alternator, Distributor, Fuel Pump, Water Pumps, Fan, Viscous Coupling, Flywheel, Flex Plate, Fuel Injection System, Turbo, Clutch and Pressure Plate, in other words all attachments to engine, excluding Cylinder Head and Block.

3. The engine has been fitted with a heat seal. A broken, melted or removed heat seal will invalidate the guarantee.

4. The following must be in a working condition when the vehicle is brought in for a guarantee inspection.

• The speedometer must be connected and working.
• The radiator must be in working condition.
• A new thermostat must be fitted.
• All water hoses must be in a good working condition.
• A new radiator cap must be fitted.
• The oil light must be working.
• Temperature gauge must be working.
• A new cam belt must be fitted (where applicable).
• Vehicle must be brought back for warranty inspection within 7 days of purchase.

5. Failure to comply with the above mentioned, will invalidate the guarantee.

6. We are not responsible for any costs involved in the exchange of engines. This includes any courier costs, towing costs and labour of any sorts..

7. No warranty on oil leaks.

8. No stripping of Engines or Gearboxes, units must be in the same condition as received, parts not returned with the Engine or Gearbox will be deducted.

9. All necessary paperwork must accompany Engine Claim.

10. All Diesel Engines are sold with a starting guarantee only.

11. All New Diesel Engines are sold with a 5000km (five thousand) or 3 months (three) guarantee

12. No claim will be given on the following:

• Stripped gears as a result of low oil level during usage.
• Seizure of internal parts as a result of leaking oil seals.
• Worn extension housing bushes, or broken extension housing as a result of an unbalanced propshaft or worn universal shafts.
• Build over units.

13. Used Gearboxes have a warranty of 1 (one) month.

14. New Gearboxes have a warranty of 3 (three) months.

15. All New Petrol Engines are sold with a 5 000 km (five thousand) or 3 (three) months guarantee.

16. All Turbo and Racing Engines are sold “VOETSTOOTS”.
